Willie Gene Wilkerson

Willie Gene Wilkerson was born on October 8, 1942, in Claxton, GA. He attended Evans County High School. He became a member of Historic Mount Pleasant Church at an early age. Willie worked for many years at Claxton Poultry Company. He was a dedicated home and garden worker for Mrs. Jean Deloach and Mrs. Doris Fries.

Willie Gene entered eternal rest on November 21, 2025, quietly, at home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonso and Ollie Mae Wilkerson of Claxton, GA. His spouse, Grace James Wilkerson, and son, Darius Wilkerson of Claxton, GA, twin sisters, Pinkie Wilkerson Jacobs of NJ, Ruth Wilkerson Jones of Claxton, GA, a brother, Rodney Wilkerson of Atlanta, GA, three cousins, Gregory Smith, Tony Jones of Statesboro, GA, and Dondi Blocker of Claxton, GA.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted brother, Eugene (Louise) Wilkerson of Claxton, GA, a stepson, Michael James, a sister, Minnie Wilkerson Smith of Statesboro, GA, a cousin, Erika Smith-Lanier of Statesboro, GA, and a sister-in-law, Edriel (Dee) Wilkerson of Atlanta, GA. His nieces and nephews, Trina Wilkerson Glover (Otis), Torrey (Corrie) Wilkerson of California, Daniell and Brian Wilkerson of Atlanta, GA, Davon Jones of Florida, Joshua E. Davis, Caleb Lanier of Statesboro, GA, and many other friends and coworkers.
