Warnell Jenkins Obituary

     At the closing of the day and in the comfort of dedicated health care workers of Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center, God reached down and whispered to Warnell “it is time” and with the soft heart he possessed; he left us , after a long illness. The lost most naturally weigh heavy on our hearts because of the human ties which are now broken 

     PFC Warnell Jenkins was born January 26, 1961 at Ft. Gordon, GA hospital to the late MSG Robert Jenkins and Jessie M. Jenkins of Daisy , GA. He peacefully made his transition home on July 27, 2020. Warnell was predeceased by his parents , baby son, sister Christine Davison, brother Robert Jenkins Jr. (Bubba) 

     At an early age he joined Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Claxton High School in 1979. Years later after high school he enlisted in the Army which he served from May 1980 to January 1982’

    He came back home to Evans County where he worked for several years with Burnice Jackson, Bob Wilkinson in construction, the GA Department of Corrections, King Fishing of Sylvania, GA from May 1999 to May 2000, Warnell worked as a cleaner, housekeeper for VAMC of Dublin, GA and also, he was a great all-around carpenter. Warnell had been hospitalized several times at the Charlie Norwood VMAC in Augusta , GA. 

    He leaves to cherish his memories sons , Quentin Jenkins, Mario of Alabama, Cornelius, Nealy of Florida, Shontavious Mainer of Atlanta and James Rucker of Claxton, GA; three sisters Betty Jenkins of Daisy, GA, Carolinda Bacon of Hinesville, GA and Amy Williams of Bay St. Louis , MS; brothers-in-law Gurnie Bacon of Hinesville , GA, Walter Davision of Radcliff, KY, one sister-in-law Debra Jenkins of Savannah, GA; four grandchildren, special friends and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
