Robert Lee Smith "BAMA"

     Robert Lee Smith (BAMA) was born on February 17, 1956 to the late Reverend Robert Bob and Mary Lee Smith from Jesup, GA. Robert was a very jolly person who never met a stranger.  He started his career very early in life by cutting trees and grinding stump. Robert had another ambition in life and that was to own his own “Big Truck”. 

     As a kid, he would love to climb into his father log truck and pretend he was driving.  Robert eventually started his own truck business with only a sixth-grade education.  Robert had a good Christian heart and on February 3, 2021 was called home to drive trucks in heaven.  His cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed.

     He is survived by his wife Eva Denise Smith of Claxton, GA, two sons Wesley Lee Smith from Glennville, GA and Kevin Scott from Ludowici GA; two brothers Jimmie Lee Freeman from North Carolina and Nathaniel Smith from Glennville, GA; three sisters Jeanette Baker from Louisiana, Catherine (Joseph) Roberts from Claxton, GA and Vemell (Dean) Kelly from Statesboro, GA. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins from Claxton and Jesup, GA.

     To all the non-biological children of Robert Lee Smith. He loved all of you as his own, you are not stepchildren. You are his children because he loves you as his children.
