Mrs. Ommie Lee Bacon was born January 28th, 1937 in Daisy, Georgia to the late Nathaniel Warren. She departed this life on August 24th, 2024 at Evans Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband James G. Bacon and five children Alvin, Eli, Gwen, Doretha, Diane.
Ommie Lee was raised by her parents and was educated in Evans County GA. She lived with her parents up until she got married to the love of her life, James Gordon Bacon on September 29, 1954. Throughout the years they welcome (6) healthy children. In 1966 her husband moved her and their children to Elizabeth, NJ. A year later the 7th child was born. Ommie and James worked to take care of their large family, including their grandchildren even up unto her retirement. When her health began to change over the years her children and grandchildren helped to support and take care of her until her health ultimately failed her.
Ommie Bacon was a member of New Zion Baptist Children in Elizabeth, NJ until she moved back to Daisy, GA where she became a member of Historic Mount Pleasant M.B. Church.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories to the Bacon Family, (65) years of marriage two children; Tina Bacon of Daisy, GA and Frances Johnson of Pembroke, GA; one sister Vere Lee Boggs of Claxton, GA and seventeen grandchildren Doretha (3) Samarrah, Terrance, Malik; Diane (3) Shem, Shatayah, Tyell; Frances (3) Juan, Kenny, Tameka; Gwendolyn (2) Nadia, Ni’am; Tina (5) Malayasia, Kaniyah, Eliyyah, Myzel, Miles; Eli (1) James (Adrianna); fourteen great grandchildren Destiny, Samaki, Aliesha, Shamar, Malik Jr., Aiden, Shamiah, Shalathia, Shantay, Daishanay, Ameer, Jala, Malan, Christian James, Autumn; one great-great grandchild Elnathan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
