Louise Williams Obituary

Proverbs 31, Chapter 10

Who can find a virtuous woman? For Her Price is Far Above Rubies

Louise E. Williams was born on April 9, 1937, in Bartow, GA to the late Otis Theodis Glover and Willie A. Powell Glover Teal.

On Sunday, August 18, 2024, Louise Williams who was truly loved, passed away at the age of 87.

She was united in holy matrimony to James Robert Williams to which they raised four children.

She was predeceased by her parents, Otis Theodis Glover and Willie A. Teal; her brother, Otis Theodis (Tex) Glover Jr., her sisters, Honey, Martha J. Lane, and Sheroland Glover, and her son, Jeffrey “Randall” Williams.

Louise was an energetic, generous, vibrant dedicated, verbally expressive and loving person. She attended Evans County High School Home of the Long Horns. She dedicated her life to first her family through relocation and care. The love and overindulgence of her Grandmother Lula for her, allowed for the belief that between Big Mama and God, “no” was not a part of her vocabulary when she insisted on having something in her focus. Louise has experienced a range of roles throughout her lifetime. Some of her past positions were with the U.S. Postal Service, Department of Social Services and Dental Hygienist in her spare time. She was the creator of Bracy Bunch Kids, an Organization for Children to have a safe place on the weekend.

Upon moving back to Georgia, Louise dedicated her life to service in Claxton Evans County Georgia. She was elected to Claxton City Council in 1986, she served as a Representative for District 1 for several years and was appointed Chairperson of the Claxton Police Department. She worked tirelessly on a State Block Grant Program. She helped to secure $800,000 to repair homes that were substandard. There were no dilapidated homes in the city of Claxton because of Louise’s efforts. She assisted residents with applications and completing various forms.

She combatted racism within the Police Department and fought for Blacks on the City Council to have legitimate Committee assignments. She was Chairman of the Clients Council Organization; this Organization secured the rights of poor and disenfranchised to have access to Medicaid, Medicare and legal rights. In addition to assisted people in securing Social Security and Social Service benefits. She also provided financial assistance to the nursing home and provided hygienic items, pajamas and whatever else was needed. Let’s not forget the Birthday parties. In 1999, because of her contributions to the Evans County Community she was selected as Grand Marshall to the Martin Luther King Celebration. She loved her Children, Grands and Great-Grands beyond measure. As the eldest sibling, she felt an obligation to care for and protect them all. Thank Heavens that nothing got in her path of the Love that she had to protect her Family.

Though she may be gone from our sight, Louise E. Williams will forever remain in our hearts and will be remembered as a beacon of love and strength. May Her Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
