On the morning of Monday, December 18, 2023, “Uncle Joe” was called home to the Lord. He was born April 29,1939 in Collins, Georgia to the late Nevada Everette and James Mincey.
“Uncle Joe” graduated from the public school in Reidsville, GA. Afterwards he attended Savannah State University where earned a degree in Business. He then pursued his goal to show his support to this country by enlisting in the US Army. There e received an honorable discharge and continued on to a career in construction.
“Uncle Joe” devoted his life to his beloved family; his only wife Porscha Mincey, brother-in-law; Winfield C Johnston, nephews; Leamon Mincey Jr, Winnie Johnston, Ty Johnston, and Jamie Mincey; a “special lady and family Matriarch”; Ruby Dell Baker along with a host of cousins and other family members.
The family would like to thank the Wartburgh Nursing Home, and a special thank you to the two compassionate ladies that were his comfort during his stay at the facility: Mrs. Jackie and Lahomia Grant.
A special blessing to our family that guided “Uncle Joe” to his final resting place back home at last in Charlton Grove.
Also, a special prayer for our family from Anette McCoy.
