Ms. Gennete Ruffin Hagan Holiday age 73 entered into eternal glory of God’s Kingdom at Pruitt Health & Rehabilitation Center in Savannah, GA on Saturday June 18th after a short illness. The Claxton native was born on December 8, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Henry and Louise Ruffin, two sisters Ms. Lola Mae Ruffins and Gloria Benjamin, two brother Henry Ruffins Jr. and William Ruffins.
Gennete lived most of her life in Savannah, GA during her first marriage. However, during her formative years she was educated at Evans County Long Horns School. She married Mr. Levi Hagan Sr. and out of this union a son was born, Levi Hagan Jr. Later, she remarried therefore, giving her the last name of Holiday.
She worked as a CNA in Savannah and Claxton Nursing Home. She also worked at the Claxton Poultry until she retired.
Gennete loved going to church, shopping and enjoying the company of her dogs. She was known for her dressing and independence, always walking pulling her shopping cart in any weather, rarely accepting a ride.
Left to cherish her well lived life her son Levi Hagan Jr., (Frenchetta Terrell Mincey Hagan); three sisters Frances Plummer Johnson, Luretha McDonald and Debra Jenkins; nine grandchildren, three great-grands and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and also her much loved pets.
