Mr. Calvin Bass was born March 16, 1941 in Manassas GA, Tattnall County to the late Mr. Percy Bass Sr. and Mrs. Bertha McKinnon Bass. He departed this life December 30, 2020 at Lawnwood Regional Center in Ft. Pierce, FL.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents Percy Bass Sr. and Bertha McKinnon Bass; four brothers Willie Lee Bass, Walter McKinnon, James T. Bass and Percy Bass Jr.; one sister Freddie Lee Bass.
Calvin was a hard worker, he worked various jobs in Claxton but decided he needed to find a better job with a higher income. With the blessings of his parents, he left home and moved to Ft. The boss really was impressed and loved Calvin hard working skills to get the job done therefore, they offered him to drive bus from Florida to New York. In his later years he also worked as a self-employed handyman doing the work that he enjoyed until he retired.
Calvin our brother, never met a stranger, he was a lovable person, always cheerful, kind, and compassionate, he was well liked by many and he loved his family. At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Mt Moriah Baptist Church in Manassas GA where he was baptized.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted companion Johnnie Mae Bouie, two sisters: Mrs. Margaret Jones of Macon, GA and Mrs. Edith Rowe (Isaac) of Fayetteville, GA. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
