Mr. Albert Clyde Youmans 87, sadly passed away August 18, 2021.
God saw you were getting tired when a cure was not to be found. He wrapped his arms around you, and whispered “Come to Me”. You didn’t deserve what you went through so he gave you needed rest. God’s Garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.
Mr. Albert Clyde Youmans, Jr. was born on May 2, 1934 to the late Albert Clyde Youmans, Sr. and the late Mariah Francis Hunter Youmans in Statesboro, Ga. He passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Evans Memorial Hospital, Claxton, GA.
He serve in the U.S. Army from Jan 3, 1957 to Dec 16, 1958 and was honorable discharged. He was united into Holy Matrimony to Alma Rita Houston on February 14, 1959. He was retired from Claxton Poultry Company where he was employed as a laborer and truck driver. In his earlier years he also did carpentry work and was known as Handy Man in the community.
At an early age, he joined the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board. He previously served as President of the Usher Board and musician for the Youth Choir Ministry and Adult Choir Ministry. Albert had a great memory. He could remember the dates of things that happened years ago. Albert loved playing his guitar, singing and his family. He began playing guitar as a teenager. He played for several churches and gospel groups during his life time. He wrote a lot of his songs, such as I’m Going to Keep on Searching Until I See My Savior’s Face and King Jesus Is The Way.
He was the grandson of the late Professor William Youmans, Anna Ruth Youmans Lawton, George Washington Hunter, Susie Hunter, and Rev. Samuel Lawton. In addition to his parents and grandparents he was preceded in death by one son, Willie James Youmans, ten siblings; two baby boys, Rosa Mae Youmans, Catherine Williams, Wendell Youmans, Annie Youmans, Gilbert Youmans, James (JL) Youmans, George William Youmans and Marion Lenora White.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 62 years Mrs. Alma Rita Youmans and one daughter Barbara Ann (Harold) Brewton; two sons Elder John Edward (Queen) Youmans and Thalathia Jerald Youmans all of Claxton, GA and one sister Mrs. Anna Lurine Pondexter of Pompano Beach, FL; four daughter-in-laws, Lenora Youmans of Sparta, GA, Samantha Pierce of Statesboro, GA, Cherida Davis and Sherry Youmans of Claxton, GA; three sister-in-laws Mrs. Josephine Youmans of Statesboro, GA, Mrs. Sadie Davis of Jacksonville, FL and Mrs. Delores Perry of Sanford, FL: special cousins Edward C. Williams of South Ozone Park Queens, NY and Bobby Williams of Pompano Beach, FL: 17 grandchildren, 18, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives and friends.
